The Best Thing about Christmas

Everybody knows the best thing about Christmas- spending time with the family and celebrating Our Savior's birth but there's another best thing about Christmas. One that I look forward to throughout the whole year. On Christmas morning I open my wonderful gifts, and enjoy with splendor as I watch the parents and brother open their presents. Once the main presents are opened there's only one thing left to do----open our stockings....boxes. That's right, you heard me boxes. My mother can't stuff all the little things she buys in a stocking so she gets copy paper boxes and fills it up mainly with food and candy. When I was little and in the church nursery they gave us the cheesy cracker snack-Goldfish. Once I put the treat in my mouth I realized it was true love. That has been my favorite food ever since. So on Christmas morning, I open up my box and it has a huge carton of Goldfish-forget all the candy. All I can say now is hurry up Christmas so I can get my Goldfish! Lolz

My Favorite Christmas Decoration

My favorite Christmas decoration would have to be this small musical angel statue. It plays a beautiful melody but not a well known Christmas carol. It is so beautiful. When I was little, I would always play it during the Christmas season...over and over and over again. My mother would sometimes have to hide it because I played it so much. haha.

Another Christmas decoration that I really enjoy are my baby ornaments. At my house we have a tradition. Josh puts up the tree, mom fluffs it and strings the lights on it, and I decorate, while Dad hangs lights on the outside of the house. When I decorate the tree I have a "system" for decorating it. I put all my ornaments and my favorites on the left side of the tree where on Christmas morning I sit and open presents. I hang my brothers ornaments and his favorites on the right side of the tree where he always sits. Then I place the rest of the pretty ornaments wherever there is room left, except for the back. The back is where the ugly ornaments go, such as this old creepy Santa Claus ornament....I swear it's the weirdest and ugliest ornament ever!

I have a lot of favorite Christmas decorations, but those would just happen to be my favorites.

Thanksgiving 2009

Ok so I feel like I haven't blogged in forever....maybe because I haven't. Anyways I thought I would catch up blogging and blog about my Thanksgiving even though it's almost Christmas time. So my Thanksgiving break was a good one. My brother got to come home for the break and we hung out and watched his favorite movie together-Kung Pow Enter the Fist....ok just saying that is the dumbest movie ever made----I felt like I was losing IQ points as the movie progressed but it was funny and refreshing spending quality time with Josh. On the actual Thanksgiving day, I went to my great aunt's for our thanksgiving lunch. There was a long table filled with the usual Thanksgiving meal plus more family specialties. After stuffing myself till I was about to burst I hung out with my cousin Ashley who's also in college. As we were catching up on old times and looking through all the black Friday ads, we got on the subject of New Moon. Ash is a movie fanatic. She goes to a lot of opening nights and has like almost every movie ever made. She saw New Moon on the night it came out. She liked it so much since she's read the series 3 times starting on her 4th time around. She decided that we needed to go see it so after we left my aunt's we went to Malco for the movie. The movie was ok---I like Jacob better so of course I didn't really like the movie but it wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be. After the movie we just hung out. I think that was the best part of my Thanksgiving, having Mar and Josh time as well as Mar and Ash time. It was the perfect way to spend Thanksgiving Break.
