Flat Tires

Can I just say flat tires suck? That is how I spent this morning, helping my mom fix a flat tire in Home Depot's Parking lot. I must admit it was a funny sight to see two women who have no clue how to change a tire trying to change a tire. We had two men stop by and ask if we needed help which was nice but my dad was on the way. So as we were waiting for my dad I hear the lady from Sam's gas station telling somebody that My mom was having a fit trying to get the flat tire off. It was funny how everyone in the world knew we had a flat tire. My friends that rode the bus even saw me and mom at Home Depot...yeah good times. I just love how my mom knows me too. WE were sitting by the car and she said, " you're going to blog about this aren't you?" She totally read my mind because I was just hiking about what to say. To make along story short- dad got there, mom took his car to get me to school, and her car was fixed. This morning was just full of stress and one guy that stopped said the day had to get better...it does, doesn't it?

My favorite Cartoon

Well I don't watch cartoons anymore since all the good one's got cancelled. My favorite cartoons had to be Pinky and the Brain, the Animaniacs, and Scooby Doo. I also loved Sabrina the Teenage Witch even though it wasn't a cartoon. I would remember me and Josh actually enjoying our time watching TV since we both loved these cartoons. It was probably mom's only time of peace during the day. I was just thinking about cartoons the other day when a girl on my bus yelled "NARF!" which was Pinky's catch phrase from Pinky and the Brain. I was just thinking, but what happened to all the great shows. Now they are all totally educational which brings down the fun level. I mean it's not a bad thing but coming home from school I used to want to watch fun cartoons not boring ones. Just saying. Now a days they are stupid and have bad animation. I just want the old days and cartoons back!

The Garbage Man

I think the garbage man is madly in love with my mom. Weird, right!? I know driving a garbage truck all day and picking up people's trash must be extremely boring but he doesn't have to spend an hour every Tuesday talking to my mom. It's so weird though. He only talks to my mom when my dad isn't there....hmm. Gets ya thinking right? My poor mom. She makes up so many excuses not to talk to him but he doesn't know when to shut up. Oh and yesterday Dad was working and the garbage man came up and rang our door bell just to talk to mom! He made up an excuse that he was on her side of the road while she was coming home. My mom said it was fine goodbye but she got stuck half in half out our front door while i sat and watched TV. I watched 2 episodes of the office before I went and "saved" her by telling her I needed her help with something. She was relieved but definitely mad at me I didn't save her sooner. The sad thing is the garbage man is married....yeah.

Well my mom says she is hiding in our bathroom next time she hears the garbage truck pulling up the driveway. I feel sorry for her but I can't help but laugh.

Glee!

Ok, so this is becoming my new favorite show. Earlier in the school year this girl brought it in for us to watch while Mrs. Elliott was gone. I loved it and couldn't wait to watch it more. So I went and watched more episodes online. I have no clue why I like it so much because it's totally stupid but hey it makes me laugh. Oh and their singing is amazing. Like I was listening to some songs sung by them and my mom even agreed and said that the cast sang it better than the original singer. So every Tuesday evening at 8:00 p.m. I tune in and watch my new favorite show. I'm now a Gleek!
: )

Inspiration

Well, of course my family and friends inspire me, but I feel like they are all I blog about. So I'm going to change the question to what inspires me.

A lot of things inspire me but they all come back to only two things really, and they are nature and music.

Nature inspiring me could include the birds singing, the crickets chirping, watching the sun rise or set, or just looking up at the clouds in the sky. It's just so mesmerizing to look around at God's creation and it puzzles me greatly how everything looks so beautiful. That beauty is what inspires me.

And then there's music. I think music inspires everyone. Any type of music can inspire me. If someone asks me what my favorite music is I can say I personal don't have a favorite. I love all types of music, except for rap. Rap makes my head hurt because I have to strain my brain to try and figure out what they are saying. Lol

And that's what inspires me.

Jezebel...

On Tuesday morning, I went outside to feed my 3 dogs. Only 2 greeted me at the door. Rocky and Chipper were so excited/antsy, which was weird since they usually don't get up half the time. Another weird thing was Jezzy, my dog, was not there. She is ALWAYS there when I open up the door, begging to get a chance to come inside. Well, Jezzy is an adventurous dog who loves water, so me and mom thought she might be out on an adventure(in "mom" speak that means she went into our woods) or in the neighbor's pond which she loves to swim in. Anyways, I went on with my morning routine. When I left the house she still wasn't there, and now I was beginning to worry. When I pulled out of the driveway I checked the road for any sign of a dog .(Previously I had a young dog about JEzzy's age who was killed on the road so that's where I tend to check first if I haven't seen one of my dog's) Well, I didn't see anything but I still went on to school. The whole day I couldn't concentrate at school and to make matters worse I had to ride the bus home and everybody in the world was on. when I finally got home, my dad was sitting on the porch, and I noticed Jezzy's head sticking out of the doghouse which is on the font porch as well. A sigh of relief escaped from me. When I got up to the porch, dad was like, "Do you see your dog? She's ok but I think she got hit by a car today...scratch that she did get hit by a car today. Mom called me and was talking about how she wasn't here so when I got home from work I went looking for her. I went all around our house, checked the road, went around Ms. Betty's house calling for her and couldn't find her. I then went to the back of the farm and still couldn't find her. When I got back home, I saw her in Ms. Betty's yard, so I went and carried her back home. Her back leg has about a 5 inch long gash which I put peroxide on but nothing else is broken. (dad was going to be a vet when he was in high school so he did this intern thing so I trust him with all this stuff) She will be sore but she'll be ok." I went over to the doghouse and these big, brown, sad-looking, eyes looked up at me. I heard her tail slowly thump against the side of the doghouse. I gently stroked her head and ears and talked to her.(yeah, I know I'm weird but I don't care) She can do this three legged walk but she is progressively getting better. Hopefully in the next few weeks she will be back to normal but as I was going to school this morning I saw a teenage boy I knew kneeling with this family and a dog. Either he hit the dog or he saw the dog get hit but it was just sad to think my dog was hit on the road just like that dog but thankfully she will be alright.

Cupcakes, Blogs, and Family

Well there are a lot of nice things that people has done for me. Recently, my friend Yvonne surprised me with cupcakes on my birthday. No one has ever done something like that before. I am so blessed to have good friends. Also when I logged onto blogger today I saw that my friend Ashley had made a blog about me. Now, I've been mentioned in a blog but there's never been a blog just dedicated to me! I feel so special. But I guess one of the nicest things that anyone has ever done for me was when God gave me a great family. I am blessed to have great friends, but I'm uber blessed to have a family such as mine. Even though, they are weird and sometimes stupid, I know they love me and would do anything for me and vice-versa.

Bus Buddies For Life!

Today we had our 4th and final bus evacuation drill. Hallelujah! Praise Jesus! I hate those things with a passion. I have ridden the bus ever since elementary school and i have done numerous bus evacuations. But 4 in a year? All we do is get on, find a cramped seat, listen to a crazy bus driver, and then get off. I do see why we do it but 4? I think we can do it once for the people who never ride a bus but i think 4 bus evacuations in a year is crazy. It's a waste of time. But through out all this craziness i did get a Bus Buddy For Life...aka Taylor McFadden.

Spring Break is almost here!

I'm so excited for spring break 2010 to hurry up and get here. It's only 2 more days away but it feels like a lifetime. I was texting my friend Jake yesterday and we were talking about how these few days will take forever long to pass and we were right. It's only Tuesday but Thursday feels so far away. Plus on these slow and never-ending days teachers are starting new things and trying to squeeze stuff in. I have no idea why though because we won't remember it when we get back anyways. Well enough talk about school. This spring break I'm not doing anything except sleeping in and hanging out with my friends that stay in town. I'm excited this year because my parents will be gone for 2 days which means I will have the house all to myself where I will relax and have the remote all to myself! lol. Also McLean County schools have the same spring break as us so I will get to hang out with my friends from church this coming week which never happens. I'm so excited. Hurry up Spring Break 2010! (I don't know how many times I have said that!)

If only

I'm going to change this blog just a bit. Instead of taking time out of the picture I'm also going to take money out of the picture too. If i could do anything I wanted to at the moment, I would sooooooooooo go to Ireland. Just recently I've fallen in love with that foreign country. I mean there's not much to do in Ireland but the scenery is just so beautiful. Next summer is my parents 26th wedding anniversary(I think) and we are in the process of saving up money to go somewhere over seas. I've got all these wonderful countries going through my head: France, Britain, Greece, etc.etc, and you can't forget IRELAND. Well Dad was talking to my mom and was saying he would go anywhere except for Ireland.....I was like you've got to be kidding me! I don't know why but the land just beckons me, and some way or another I'M GOING!

P.S.-Irish accents are so cool-way better than British ones! : )

Feels like the 1st time

So the first time I went driving was scary. I went on the back roads home, and on one of the road there were huge, and I mean HUGE, ditches on the side of the road. My dad was like, "This probably isn't the safest road to start on but it's better than 431." Gee thanks daddy.... Once the fear of falling off the road was gone I was actually doing ok....until cars came...I was freaking out, but dad gave me some pointers to not hit them - that was a good thing. Since I didn't hit anybody everything was still going good. Oh and this was the first time I was driving in my dad's car. I practiced driving in my mom's car in Panther Creek's parking lot, so this was a whole new experience for me. Anyways long story short, we made it home and nobody died! I was rejoicing as well as Daddy when I put the car into park in our driveway. He even lied and said that I spit gravel out of our driveway while on the final stretch home...yeah right....the execution was perfect.

: ) Now driving isn't too bad, it's actually very very fun.

Momma!!!

If I were to call anyone, the first person I would call would probably be my mother. I always talk to my mom plus it's instinct to call my when something important or whatever happens. I let mom know everything. But you have to know my mom. She rarely has her cell phone on, but if it is on she doesn't have it with her so that could be a problem. So actually I take back calling my mom first. I guess I would call my dad next....I would say josh but when he sees that I'm calling he never picks up. So if I were to call anyone it would be my dad and to make up a reason for me calling would be that I'm one who wants to be a millionaire and I'm on the last question. I have to call a friend life-line left and he would DEFINITELY be my lifeline-he's very smart. Then I would be a millionaire and it would be great.....
btw-this blog is very random and odd, but hey I needed a blog, so here it is!

Spring Fever!

Man am i pumped for spring or what. I'm bouncing off the walls because of all this warm weather we have been having. Every day after school I go home and change then head outside. I have planted flowers on the bank with my dad(for my mom), played with my dogs, ridden my bike with Josh(he's on his spring break), and walked with mom. Spring is my favorite season...always has been. Maybe because my birthday's in April or because it's so comfortable with the weather. I mean in summer there are days that are just too hot and I hate it. But with spring it's just the perfect weather. Now the only thing I'm missing is spring break...so hurry up! : )

Stupid Chicken

There were many reasons why the chicken crossed the road. Here are some of those reasons:

  • To get to the other side

  • There was a sale of Grilled Chicken at KFC...he was on a diet.

  • There was a new "chick flick" playing at the malco.

  • Why can't he!?

  • According to Nicholas Miller- the fox was chasing him.

The Two-headed Girl

So this morning I was walking along with my friend Katie and we went to go see Mr. Phelps. You see, Mr. Phelps and my father are best friends so we know each other real well. Me and Katie are best friends with his daughter so we are used to his stupidity, but today we weren't. Out of the blue he asked if we had heard about the two-headed girl. Of course we said no. Apparently there is a girl with two heads. Their names are Abigail and Brittany Hensel, and they are conjoined twins. Right now they are 19 and in college. It just amazes me how they have gotten this far in the world. I can not imagine what their lives have been like. I mean you have to do everything with your sister. What if you didn't want to take this class...too bad! or what about boys.... Ya know?

Well that's just been on my mind all day. It would suck to have your sibling on your shoulder all day long for the rest of your life. lol.

Laughter

Many things make me laugh. If you know me any at all you should know that. Here are some things and people that make me lol

  • My entire family

  • White day lunches

  • Old memories with my friends

  • People falling down

  • People hurting themselves

  • Animals doing stupid things

  • Dumb questions....yes there are such things

  • Mr. Fuller and his random lectures where he talks to himself

Those are just to name a few. I laugh at these things and more because they make me feel better about myself, and they are just funny. I love laughter; a world without it would be too boring and depressing.

"No"

Here are some ways to say no without actually saying the word no:

  • Marley Elizabeth Edmonson....My parents use that one alot

  • "The look" it's not verbal but it's effective!

  • Non

  • Please don't do that that

  • Sorry I've got other things to do

  • Well....I'd rather not

  • You better not
  • Oh sorry...I'm not here at the moment please leave a message after the beep....after you already answered your phone : )

Codenames

So today in Drama me and Kelsey were in the Lighting Booth like usually. Mrs. Berry came up there and talked to us about the lights...Duh. Well anyways she decided to go downstairs but we still needed to talk to her so we suggested using our headsets so we could stay in touch. She agreed and that's when the fun began. Me and Kelsey each got a headset and started talking to each other and we had fun. But the best part was when I decided to come up with code names. I was out getting a drink of water when I suddenly thought of a great codename for myself...i told Kelsey my nickname should be rubber ducky. She came up with Guacamole and Mrs. Berry is Blueberry....now I just can't till drama on Friday so i can resume being "Rubber-Ducky."

I'll admit I'm addicted to...

For some people they are addicted to texting, or to certain television shows. It's different for me. I don't care about my phone---I loose it half the time and TV can just get boring, but there is one thing I'm addicted to and that's facebook. When I do something stupid I think, "Oh that will be a great status," or, " I need to ask about that, I wonder if so and so is online." I love seeing that I have notifications...unless I find out they are stupid then I get mad. I also love when I have new friend requests-that just makes me happy. I guess the number one reason why I love Facebook is that I can talk to my friends that I don't get to see everyday, and I also get to talk to my family, especially Josh. I check my facebook at least one time a day usually more, but I stay on for about 45 minutes at a time. I mean a few minutes ago I knew I had to write some blogs to get a total of ten for January and I had it in my mind to go straight to Blogger. Well I must've taken a detour because I ended up on FB....how that happened I don't know. lol : )

I have a problem and I'll admit it....
My name is Marley and I'm addicted to Facebook.

Snow, Snow go away....

Personally I'm on the fence when it comes to snow days. Some days I'm just wishing for a day of sleeping in and no homework. But there's always a downside. I get confused and I usually always forget some kind of homework due. But I think the biggest reason that I don't really like snow days is we always have to make it up. I mean come on, we stayed in school till June last year-why would you want to do that again? For instance 2 days ago...our cancellation for school was stupid and pointless. The roads were clear by 10. A two hour delay would've been perfect...best of both worlds, I mean sleeping in and only 40 minute classes. So now every body's getting all excited again about the chance of snow but me personally this time around I'm not a big fan.

My Dogs ♥

So instead of blogging about dog advice, I'm just going to blog about my dogs for the heck of it. I have 3 dogs. Rocky is a black lab, probably about 7-8 years old. He is technically my brother's dog but I think he loves me more. Haha. Everybody thinks Rocky is a mean dog the first time they meet him because he is pretty big, but then they soon find out he is a total sweetheart. He loves to try and chase big flying birds, like hawks...bless his heart, I keep telling him someday he will catch one. ;)

Next we have Chipper. WE found Chip roaming around our neighbors house "crying" as a little puppy. Somebody just dropped him off and my neighbor was too elderly to take care of him so Dad brought him home. At that time I was in 5th grade and I had to stay after school for a play we were putting on. Mom was telling me that Daddy had brought home a new pet but wouldn't tell me what....at that point in my life I really wanted a rabbit so I was convinced that it was a rabbit. As we pulled up the driveway, I saw a brown dog get up from underneath the bench. At first glance I thought he was the ugliest dog ever until he wondered up to my door. Boy was I mistaken! He was precious!!!! He's a mutt but he's one of the sweetest dogs we have ever had. Chip loves squeaky toys and cat food. He's a "hefty" dog, but in his mind he's a lap dog. Chip loves to go walking at Panther Creek Park and he loves the back of a truck and car rides.

And last we have Jezebel....Jezzy for short. Jezzy is "my dog" because she is a big pain in the butt. Her birthday was just yesterday- we've had her for a full year. On the eve of the ice storm my Dad brought her home before the previous owners sold her to somebody else. She is part Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mixed with a Golden Retriever but she is all black and white. She is so full of energy and loves to play and chew on anything....oh and she is a major pig---so eats everything in sight! When she's not eating, getting into trouble, or annoying Chipper, she is on the couch snuggled up in your lap. She might be a pain but she is my baby girl! lol
Last night at church my friend Clint was talking about how he cried in Marley and Me. He was talking about how girls don't understand the relationship between a man and his dog. I object! I am an animal person---and I love my dogs so much. I bawled in Marley and Me, I guess he just doesn't understand my bond with all my dogs.
p.s.- I think this is the longest blog ever. : )

Trademarks

Many people I know have trademarks. For instance....

-My mom---DEFINATELY her laugh. You can be upstairs and hear her laugh all the way from downstairs...but I would miss it if it was gone. lol
-My best friend Katie- her dry humor. Katie is a very sarcastic person but she doesnt show it. She can be insulting you as a joke but she keeps a straightface so a lot of people hate her when they first meet her. lol
-My dog Rocky- his tail wag is a trademark. Everyone who comes to my house comments on how he wags his tail. He gets super excited and his tail looks like a helicopter. Everyone laughs and says that he's just about to take off.

Ugly Words

Here are some words that are awkward, weird, or just sound disgusting to me:
  • tardy
  • fuschia
  • rural
  • lard
  • lichen
  • fungus
  • spore
  • nostril
  • chug(like as in chugging a drink)
  • prickly

well there are just a few!

MLK Day

I had a great three day weekend, it was probably the best three day weekend of 2010. My Monday started as I was still awake at 12 with me talking to the guy I liked which was great...I just knew the rest of my day would be a good one. When I awoke, my Monday started out as any other, except for the fact that some stupid person scheduled an orthodontist appointment...yeah I know I'm stupid. Well anyways, my appointment was at 12:30 and they had to take off my bottom bracket, put a new one on to make sure it fit, take the new one off, put cement on it and put it back on- all which were very painful by the way. Well after gurgling all the cement and gauze out of my mouth I was headed for Evansville with my best friend Kim. We had a great time just hanging out and talking, mostly about boys. lol. I got a new purse which I love and a few new shirts so of course I was ecstatic. After the shopping was over we headed back home. At my church we have visitation where we go out and visit church or non church members and check on how they are doing. Me and Kim went and were out visiting with our youth minister and other youth. That was also fun driving around McLean County with a bunch of teenagers plus our youth minister. IT was fun to be around friends that you don't get to see every day.
Well that was my MLK day, by far the GREATEST MLK day ever.

Bad Ideas

I tend to have quite a few bad ideas. It's just in my DNA. So here we go listing some of my worst ideas....

  • Bad idea number ten: Not studying for my past biology vocab test....I think I bombed that one.
  • Bad idea number nine: Being told to mow the grass when the ground is wet. I live on a hill with fields surrounding my house. I got to close to a field and drifted into mud. I got hung up and ever since then I haven't been able to mow the yard.
  • Bad idea number eight: Recently going sledding with my best friend Kim. We pulled a little Ethan Frome trick but we didn't get as "smashed" up as them, although we were very sore for the next few days.
  • Bad idea number seven: Touching my aunt's electric fence....yeah not smart. I think I was "buzzing" for an hour. My hand had it's own pulse and yet at the same time I couldn't feel it at all.
  • Bad idea number six: Cooking Rice Krispie Treats fro the first time. Don't just stick Rice Krispies and Marshmallows in a pan and turn the burner on....that's not the way it's done. My house smelt like burnt Rice Krispies for days.
  • Bad idea number five: Telling your brother who you are crushing on now-a-days. He says he won't tell anyone but before you know it, every body "magically" finds out who I like.....hmmmm? Ironic is it not?
  • Bad Idea number four-not listening to your mom when you were practing the trust fall back exercise. When your mom keeps telling you, "I'm not going to catch you....I'm not." you might want to take her word for it. hitting the linoleum kitchen floor just did not feel to well.
  • Bad idea number three- walking on ice with shoe's without traction---falling on your butt infront of pretty much all my church is majorly embarassing.
  • Bad idea number two- talking about people with your friends and the person your talking about is right behind ya.....well bless your heart.
  • Bad idea number one-Almost killing your brother with your cooking. Just yesterday I was making hamburger helper. Of course you have to brown the ground beef first and so i was adding salt and pepper. But nobody told me that the pepper didn't have the little top with the holes so I just opened it and poured. Half the thing of pepper was in the pound of ground beef. Josh was so hungry he told me to go ahead and finish making it. It looked fine but I could only eat 2 bites. All you could taste was the pepper. Josh on the other hand ate 2 plates-along with 4 cups of coke. He made me feel better by telling me that it tasted like hot wings. Thanks josh : ) lol

Student of the Month

On the last day of my fall finals for 2009, I received an email from Mrs. Penny Courtney. It said congratulations, you have been selected as December student of the month. That just made my day...well it added to my euphoria.( Look Mrs. Matthews! I used a vocab word----YAY MAR!) I was selected for Student of the month at the end of my freshman year as well. During that luncheon, i didn't know who the other freshman so I was wondering who the guy would be this time around. A few days ago as they were saying the names of the students of the month for December I was anticipating the worst. Much to my surprise, one of my best friends, Nick Miller, was the male junior recipient. I was like, "Heck Yeah, this will be so much fun." And it was. Now as a junior I wasn't afraid to talk and i had a great time chatting with all the other recipients. Now I really want to go to Ritzy's and get my free scoop of ice cream---yum.

Goodbye 2009....Hello 2010

They were the best of times they were the worst of times....
2009 brought many good and bad things for my life...let's reminisce shall we? In 2009,I was a sophomore. Sophomore was boring and I hated it. Also, I went to 3 more states that I've never been to before during spring break. I went to Baltimore in the summer for a mission trip. I came back to school for my junior year but before it really got started, my grandfather died. But on the happy side my brother is at Western for his first year of college. Josh really enjoys it and he made the president's list(3.8 GPA) We are all very proud of him, even though I have missed him a lot. That pretty much sums up my 2009...I sure hope 2010's way better. I have a feeling it will.
Oh and by the way, this morning on E.N.L it's two-thousand and 10 not twenty-ten...just saying.
: )

Conditioner Crisis

On Christmas morning I was opening up my stocking box and pulled out Pantienne products that my mom had bought. I got gel, hair spray, and a bottle of shampoo...or so I thought. I spent the whole week using my new shampoo until I noticed my hair not shining like it usually does. So on Saturday night after washing my hair I picked up the bottle and starting reading it. Much to my surprise it was only conditioner. For the past week I had only been washing my hair with conditioner. I felt so stupid. I just knew I had to blog about this so I did...just something interesting that happened over my winter break. I guess some other things that happened were me and my cousin hanging out again. Me and Ash had a sleepover and went to the movies. We went and saw Avatar which is a great movie...I recommend it. Then me and Josh hung out which was very refreshing. Yep that's about it.
Interesting blog right?
