One of my favorite Halloween memories is carving pumpkins with my older brother and my mom. Running through rows and rows of pumpkins with Josh trying to find the biggest and best one there was. Once we found IT we would bring it home and rinse it off. Then we would cut open the top and pull out all the seeds and gooey stuff. That was always my favorite part-digging your hands in and feeling the cool stringy inside! We would wash the seeds, put them on a pan, and then baked them. My brother would always trace the face and mom would always cut it out. We had some weird faces throughout the years with Josh holding the marker ; ) but they would always be cute and everyone would remark on how precious they were. For the last few years we haven't really been getting pumpkins but I will always remember the good, fun, Halloween times.
